In November 2010, we have an opportunity to clean out the entire House and one-third of the Senate. For a reason to do so, one has to look no further than at a new report released by the Social Security Board of Trustees that says the Social Security system will pay out more in benefits than it gathers in tax receipts this year for the first time since 1983.
The deficit is estimated at $41 billion.
How did this happen and why? One of the reasons for the deficit is Social Security payments to legal and illegal immigrants. While some Republicans have been asleep on the matter it is the liberal Democrats who have authored changes to and voted for expanding the criteria to receive Social Security benefits.
You think an illegal cannot get Social Security – Wrong. All they need is a good set of ID’s and a community organizer to assist them and an immigrant who has paid little or nothing into the retirement program can receive more than a life-long taxpayer.
If the immigrant is over 65, they can apply for SSI and Medicaid and get more than a woman on Social Security, who worked from 1944 until 2004. It is interesting that the federal government provides a single refugee with a monthly allowance of $1,890. Each can also obtain an additional $580 in social assistance, for a total of $2,470 a month. This compares to a single pensioner, who, after contributing to the growth and development of America for 40 to 50 years can only receive a monthly maximum of $1,012 in old age pension and Guaranteed Income Supplement. Maybe our pensioners should apply as refugees!
Consider sending this to all your friends and neighbors, so we can all be ticked off and maybe get the refugees cut back to $1,012 and the pensioners up to $2,470. Then we can enjoy some of the money we were forced to submit to the government over the last 40, 50 or 60 years. Remember, you will not receive a Cost of Living increase for 2010, or 2011 and 2012. This is an insult and a kick in the butt to all of us.
When are we going to tell liberal Democrats enough is enough?
